Source code for divide by zero modification: http://pastebin.com/sNmUAPtX
Today, I have completed chapters 8 and 9. In chapter 8, I made a program that tells you what day you were born on. In chapter 10, I modified my program to detect when the user tries to divide by zero. If the user does try to divide by zero they see an error message prompting them to enter something else. In Chapter 8, I made a code decipher and encrypted using strings. I have been really busy working on other school for the past month, but now that school is on break I will catch up in Programming. Expect to see more regular updates in the future. Really sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Source Code: http://pastebin.com/8F5N1PhU In chapter 7 I have learned how to make a calculator. This calculator can add, subtract, multiply and divide two numbers. Obviously it is very basic, but it is my most complicated program yet. At first I forgot to put event handlers for multiplication and division, and I figured out what was wrong with my program. I had an error where my program had a problem interpreting variables as well. Me and my dad figured out it was just problems with indentation and formatting. Instead of taking a picture of my source code, I am going to start putting my source code on a site called pastebin.com. I would compile the program for download but sadly I do not know how yet. Click on the button below labeled "Source Code" to view my source code. In chapter 6, I have learned the basics about text boxes and user input, using Combo, Radio, List, Text, and Group buttons to create a basic user generated story. It isn't very complex, but it allows me to use almost every single form of user input in Visual Studio to create a simple user generated story. In chapters 5, I have learned about For() loops, While() loops, and Do-While() loops. In this weeks activity, I have a program that beeps a number of times based on user input. Each button uses a different method of looping, but each button does exactly beeps the amount of times the user asks it. In chapters 3-4, I learned about different control types such as list box buttons, checkbox buttons, and radio buttons. I learned about different numeric data types such as bytes, sbytes, and floats. I have also learned about variable types such as booleans, chars, and decimals.
In lessons 1 and 2, I have learned the basics of how to use Visual Basic Studio, how to drag and drop elements of a program, and how to edit text inside those elements. It took me about an hour to complete lessons 1 and 2.
This is a project I have been working on for the past year or so on and off. My goal is to create a replica of the classic Breakout so I can get familiar with GameMaker: Studio. I haven't done much except making sure all the objects work with each other, but it is coming along nicely. My code is starting to get messy, but that is to be expected. I am not going to polish it until I am 100% satisfied with it. Here is a preview of what I have done so far: |
